How you juice matters

Did you know that choosing the right type of juicer spells a huge difference on the quality of juice that you get? Even though a juice is freshly made, the positive benefits of the juice depends on how it was made: using a high-speed juicer or a slow-rpm/masticating juicer?

Juicing at high speed

A high-speed juicer is basically the most commonly found juicer in your local appliance center and commercial juice bars. This particular juicer extracts liquid from fruits and vegetables at a very high speed. What’s wrong with that? Due to the speed of the blades and discs in the juicer, heat is created. With this heat comes the death of phyto and micronutrients plus the live enzymes in the juice (as compared with juice made in a slow-rpm juicer).

Slowly, but surely

A slow-rpm juicer, on the other hand, masticates the fruits and vegetables and gently squeezes out the liquid. This way, the juice itself retains a huge part of the vitamins, minerals, phyto and micronutrients that your body will benefit from.

The easiest way to know if the juicer is good or bad is if it sounds like a “roaring machine”, then most likely it’s not the type of juicer you should be using. Although people have said that it doesn’t matter what juicer you use, as long as you juice, choosing the best juicer to get the best possible benefit should be your focus since you are embarking on a journey of juicing anyway. So, why go half-baked?
